Meet the DoctorsThe Plant-Based Doctor Network brings together the world's leading physician-researchers who have dedicated their careers to studying the effects of whole food, plant-based nutrition on human health. Each doctor offers unique insights and expertise, backed by decades of clinical research and practice.
Our mission is to provide evidence-based information on how dietary choices can prevent, treat, and often reverse common chronic diseases. Through the collective wisdom of these pioneering doctors, we offer a comprehensive resource for anyone seeking to improve their health through nutrition.

Learn MorePlant-based diets have been shown to prevent, halt, and even reverse heart disease. Doctors Esselstyn and Ornish have both conducted landmark studies demonstrating that coronary artery disease can be reversed through comprehensive lifestyle changes centered on a low-fat, whole food plant-based diet.
Dr. Neal Barnard's research has shown that a low-fat vegan diet can significantly improve insulin sensitivity and reduce the need for medications in type 2 diabetes patients. Multiple studies have confirmed that plant-based eating patterns can help regulate blood sugar and reverse insulin resistance.
The China Study, led by Dr. T. Colin Campbell, found significant associations between animal food consumption and cancer rates. Plant-based diets rich in fiber, antioxidants, and phytonutrients support the body's natural defense systems against cancer development and progression.
Whole food plant-based diets naturally lead to healthy weight loss without counting calories or restricting portions. The high fiber content increases satiety while the low caloric density allows for satisfying meals. Dr. McDougall's starch-based approach and Dr. Fuhrman's nutrient density focus both provide effective frameworks for sustainable weight management.
Dr. Michael Greger's extensive research review shows that plant-based diets are associated with lower inflammation, better immune function, and reduced risk of all major chronic diseases. This translates to improved quality of life and enhanced longevity, as demonstrated by studies of long-lived populations around the world.
The work of these pioneering physicians is increasingly supported by mainstream medical organizations. Major institutions now recognize that plant-predominant diets can play a crucial role in preventing and treating chronic disease.
"Plant-based diets that are rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and legumes... have demonstrated efficacy in preventing and treating common chronic diseases, including cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, and obesity."

All of the doctors linked here agree absolutely with the need for a fully plant based (AKA vegan) diet for optimal health. They vary in subtle aspects of the broad subject.
If you are genuinely interested in improving your health, you really do need to take some time out to consider the evidence. It will point you to whole food plant based eating as the only way to go, with mountains of evidence pointing at this conclusion. Don't get misled by the numerous other 'experts' who tickle ears to convince ones of what they are hoping to hear.
As a benefit, it is the healthiest solution for weight loss, and by far, the cheapest low cost diet around. Personally I find the recommendations of Peter Rogers MD the 'one' to follow as it is based on epidemological evidence, i.e what goes on deep in the body and cell interactions and activities. It is also the simplest and cheapest to follow
... but you can make your own decision.
